Top ways to experience Copenhagen Central Station and nearby attractions

The area
Address
Neighbourhood: Inner Vesterbro
This neighbourhood is home to Tivoli Gardens, a world famous amusement park and beautiful garden always worth a visit. Just west of Tivoli, you’ll find Copenhagen Central Station, from where you can reach just about every part of Denmark within 5 or 6 hours, or you can reach Copenhagen Airport in less than 15 minutes. Next to the Central Station, you’re in the middle of “old” Vesterbro, where several cultures and hundreds of languages are spoken in an area not more than one square mile. This neighbourhood is considered one of the most trendy places to live in and to visit in Copenhagen. For a real treat, visit Kødbyen ("meat town"), home to several restaurants, cafés and nightclubs, all within a short walk of each other.

    Lovely building
We experienced this large train station when we went to Copenhagen for the day and all in all it was a positive experience. Lots of shops, cafes etc etc and it is the centre for connections for buses too. Its a lovely area to sit and people watch too although more seating would be a plus. The only slight negative was that the notice boards could have been easier to understand and it is not just the language barriers.

    Very good train station
This is a very well Rome train station. That is very clean and efficient. There’s excellent signage all over the place in order to find the right train. We came here to do a side trip to Malmo Sweden, and sounded very pleasant with minimal disruptions.

Beautiful station and capital's main transport hub
Likewise many European cities, CPH railway station is located in the very center in a huge nice building. It is the main transport hub not only for CPH, but for whole Denmark. All international trains depart and arrive here, and it is the central hub for city metro lines beneath it, as well bus services outside of it by Tivoli gardens.

    Efficient large station
Efficient large station. Signage for routes obviously in Danish but we found the trains back to the airport easily enough. On our last day we were waiting for the airport train in good time and on the right platform and the leaving time came and went without the train on the platform. For the railways efficiency this seemed a bit weird and then suddenly one of the platform staff shouted that the platform had changed. There was a rush of people / pushchairs and suitcases as we moved off one platform up the escalator and down the escalator two platforms away and a further member of staff waved from the far end of the platform to get us on a train not visible when we came down the escalator. As soon as we were on it shot off and we got to the airport in what seemed a very quick journey and whilst we were travelling, they asked us to get off the train as quick as we could at the airport as they needed to get the train back to the station.

Excellent help from ticket office staff
As a person from another country and it being my 1st time in Copenhagen I was daunted by which train to take & how to get around. The ticket office staff went over and above to help. Made my visit to Copenhagen so much easier to navigate and enjoy. Many many to the staff there

    Big and well-run station
This is a big and well run station. It has a very efficient train system also. The few times I used it I found the workers quite helpful and well organized; both inside and outside the station is quite architecturally beautiful.

Centrally located; could use a desk to answer travel questions
The central train station is centrally located (across from the Tivoli Gardens) and offers a range of shopping options. We didn't see a central information desk (despite looking) and had a bit of trouble finding out which track our train left from. We could not find a bathroom that didn't charge for use.

The organisation of this central travel hub is impressive. Hardly any waiting time fir trains, and the food outlets are very good.

It is beautiful both inside and outside. It is close to main tourist attractions, such as the City Hall, Planetarium and Tivoli Gardens. There are many shops inside. Passengers would not be bored.

The second best place I visited in Copenhagen was this. It had a bunch of shops inside on the ground floor, it was really really friendly to transportation & vehicles, had a nice building from outside and showed the 24-hour time outside, too!
