Neighbourhood: Inner Vesterbro
This neighbourhood is home to Tivoli Gardens, a world famous amusement park and beautiful garden always worth a visit. Just west of Tivoli, you’ll find Copenhagen Central Station, from where you can reach just about every part of Denmark within 5 or 6 hours, or you can reach Copenhagen Airport in less than 15 minutes. Next to the Central Station, you’re in the middle of “old” Vesterbro, where several cultures and hundreds of languages are spoken in an area not more than one square mile. This neighbourhood is considered one of the most trendy places to live in and to visit in Copenhagen. For a real treat, visit Kødbyen ("meat town"), home to several restaurants, cafés and nightclubs, all within a short walk of each other.

- Ann HYork, United Kingdom2,464 contributionsLovely buildingWe experienced this large train station when we went to Copenhagen for the day and all in all it was a positive experience. Lots of shops, cafes etc etc and it is the centre for connections for buses too. Its a lovely area to sit and people watch too although more seating would be a plus. The only slight negative was that the notice boards could have been easier to understand and it is not just the language barriers.Visited May 2023Written 30 May 2023

There’s excellent signage all over the place in order to find the right train. We came here to do a side trip to Malmo Sweden, and sounded very pleasant with minimal disruptions.Visited June 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 28 June 2023

It is the main transport hub not only for CPH, but for whole Denmark. All international trains depart and arrive here, and it is the central hub for city metro lines beneath it, as well bus services outside of it by Tivoli gardens.Visited June 2023Written 30 June 2023

We didn't see a central information desk (despite looking) and had a bit of trouble finding out which track our train left from. We could not find a bathroom that didn't charge for use.Visited May 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 4 September 2023

It is beautiful both inside and outside. It is close to main tourist attractions, such as the City Hall, Planetarium and Tivoli Gardens. There are many shops inside. Passengers would not be bored.

The second best place I visited in Copenhagen was this. It had a bunch of shops inside on the ground floor, it was really really friendly to transportation & vehicles, had a nice building from outside and showed the 24-hour time outside, too!

Hello! To take a S tog train from Central Station to Hillerod should we report to Tracks 9, 10 , 11 and 12? Will the train line be called " The A Line "? Does the northbound train to Hillerod stop there? Meaning that is the end of the line so I couldn't possibly miss my Hillerod stop? Thanks for any upcoming responses. Btw...we will use "City Pass Large"

Is it easy to travel with suitcases on trains between Copenhagen and Gothenberg, and Gothenberg and Oslo?

Yes. The trains have plenty of room for your luggage, and the Øresund trains Copenhagen-Gothenburg even has a low floor carriage for easy entry/exit. Alternatively, the DFDS overnight ferry Copenhagen-Oslo is nice and can be recommended.
Is there a shuttle service provided by MSC cruises to transfer us from train station to the ship?

We want to take a high speed train to Stockholm from Copenhagen Central Station. Is there an office where you can buy them? What does SJ+1 mean? Does it take 5 hrs and 40 min? Is there a taxi service or subway to Stockholm? Is the station open? Thank you

Yes,there is a ticket office at Copenhagen central station and the journey is 5 to 6 hours plus, depending on the train you take.
Hi...our airBnb accommodation is on Lille Istedgade. Are the many entrance/exits from the Central Station? Which exit do we take to go to Istedgade?

Coimbra, Portugal3,357 contributions
There are 2 exits. The main one and a side one. The main one is to the right when you get up to the station from the platform.
To get to Lille Istedgade, when you exit the station, turn left, walk about 150 metres up to a crossroads, turn left on Vesterbrogade, walk along there for about 250 metres and turn left again onto Helgolandsgade, walk down there for 150 metres until the first junction you come to and turn right, onto Istedgade, walk along there for 150 metres and Lille Istedgade is the 2nd turning on your left.
Hope that helps.
Hi i plan to travel from copenhagen airport to copenhagen central train station by train with one small backpack and a big luggage bag measuring 24in. My arms not strong.
My queries are as follows:
1. Are there lifts in the airport to the train platform. I watched a youtube video and it showed a travellator or moving sidewalk.
2. Is there only 1 train from the airport to the centrain train station?? Which direction should i take ??
3. Are the steps to the train carriage low?? I saw the youtube video showing one train carriage has a ramp n ppl lugged their big bags down . Is there a train carriage with an auto ramp. How do i identify tis train carriage ??
4. Are there lifts in the train platform in the central train station to the ground floor ??
5. I plan to stay in copenhagen star hotel near the central train station. Which exit should i be taking?? I understand there r 2 exits.
Appreciate your assistance and feedback.

We were there July 2018. The train from the airport is the best ever. You pick up your baggage and the train is right there. I believe you go down one level to get the commuter train to the Main Train Station. They run about every 15 min. or so for a 20 min. ride. There are hotels right outside the main station. I do not know about lifts/elevators but people there are very friendly and glad to help also helping with purchasing tickets from the machine. Take a look at the YouTube videos about the airport and train travel. It's very easy, hope it helps.

Is there a train that will take you to the cruise port where Royal Caribbean ships dock in June?

First, you should locate where your ship docks (most likely Oceankaj). Then you should check how to get there on the Journey Planner :)

Can I buy here a personal rejsekort while on wait?
Do I have to leave the station to get a good meal with wine or beer? Last time I was at this station 2017 there was no bar or restaurant that served alcohol. All the places serving food had only snacks or junk food.
