There is nothing better than having a glögg on a cold and windy December evening in Copenhagen. The glögg is not the kind of stuff you get on a Christmas market. It is special, full of alcohol and spices. It's served in a very old vine bar in the heart of Copenhagen. It's packed with Denish people of all ages... More

and suddenly our friends turned into the doorway of this establishment , reputedly the oldest bar in Copenhagen and I m pleased they did. A very busy and convivial atmosphere full of locals and tourists alike all enjoying a lunchtime libation . Service was speedy and friendly . It did have the homely feel of an old British pub .... We just dropped in for a fast drink. Gloeg it had to be for it was cold and rainy outside and also pre-Christmas. Great experience in this ancient place, dating back to 1723. Can you picture this, the USA wasn't even born then? Still going strong, it was hard to find 2 seats. But then it was easy to have... More

Hviid's vinstue is a staple of Copenhagen Christmas season. The glogg is arguably the best in town (for me the best in the sense of comforting familiarity), and the pebernodder ("pepper nuts") are my favourite bar snack. It's central, historical, and as Danish as it gets.

If you are looking for some place with a lot of character, this is it! It is very old (1723, I believe), filled with well-worn wood decor, and has a list of famous historical visitors. There are only drinks and the choices are not extensive, but this adds to the charm. To top everything off, the staff working was absolutely... More

Brought here by local friends, this bar on Kongens Nytorv is central to the shopping, cultural & boat tour area, but has managed to retain its charm & style. It's got loads of character (opened in 1723!), friendly staff and is a really cosy place to enjoy a chat and a beer.

This is the pub with all the danish traditions and the very best service. Everything served from the local beers to irish coffee and the best selection of wines, served in an atmosphere you will appreciate, - young or old. Do not forget to look at all the picures and paintings. The pub is located at Kongens Nytorv, which deserve... More

This has been thee meeting place for young, mature and old people for many many years, due to its charisma, the waiters, the cold beer and the simply but extremely tasty food, outdoor and indoor seats where one can enjoy the thousand of people passing by daily. This is a place not to be missed and right nxt to the... More

This was my first gløgg experience and I was told it was the best gløgg in the city. I believe it. The stuff is good - delicious! - but packs a punch :) There are also lots of mini ginger snaps to snack on - I recommend that as well. Wish we had this back home. It was a really... More
