I have been many times walking around here at winter as well as summer and spring. You can meet many people running around this along the roads. Its beauty is just natures combined with old citadel buildings with lakes and grassy roads. So it would be good to walk slowly like real Copenhagen citizens. At Summer there is no shading... More

We came upon this area after visiting the Little Mermaid. Took some lovely pictures before entering each gate. There is a beautiful church, weeping willows, reflection upon water etc.. just beyond the gate over the bridge that makes a lovely picture from the knoll.

This is a nice spot inside the old fort. The whole area in the old fort and all around it is and amazing thing to have so near a city center. Worth a look, but worth more time in the area.

A modest church located at the Kastellet, built in the early 18th century. It is a nice sight with a great walk, quiet and peaceful.

Well worth visiting just to absorb the scale of the place. The earth walls and ramparts are impressive and a raised bronze (?) wall plaque inside the main entrance on the left wall shows how the very particular complex star shape of the whole site provided for enfiladed fire on an attacker (impossible to avoid being fired on from one... the Citadel is from 1668 and a remarkable part of Copenhagen with its walls and ramparts and old Buildings including a mill and the old prison behind the church. There is a good view of the harbour from the ramparts

This is a lovely little church, located inside the citadel. While the church was not open for visitors while we were there, we did manage to peek into it. All in all, it's a simple church and a lovely building to match.

We started out meandering around the outside, along with many joggers. There were picnic tables and fire pits for those who wanted to cook lunch. The fun part was walking on the ramparts. You could take the easy way and follow the road, but the kids wanted to see it from the top of the hill. There are cannons and... More

Beautiful lean architecture. Wonderful surroundings. Peaceful, cool and quiet place to go in the summer when Langelinie is buzzing with tourists climbing onto the little mermaid's lap.

Take a walk from Mærsk Head Office - notice the English Church and Gefion with women and cows sculptured with water. Architecture like they could before with the Kastellet with soldiers in the fantastic red houses. I would love to live there. The Church is active and open. restored and delicate.Must be seen.
