There is a beautiful beach area in the park known as Alligator Point. Parking is somewhat limited, but there are nice paths to the beach, some picnic tables. The beach is very pretty, you can tell that it is not heavily used. At $4 a...More

This Beach is like it must have been in old times. We took our blankets down the beach several hundred yards and set ourselves up. It was quiet except for the Gulls. A beautiful quiet experience. Lots of sugar sand- no bugs. Wind was moderate....More

I drove 12 miles out of my way off US Hwy 98 to take my wife out here. Pretty much for just another look at the ocean. During summer, the bugs will eat you alive on the nature walk, so take plenty of protection. The...More

Drove 80 miles to find one of Florida's white sandy beaches and this place didn't disappoint. Miles of beach, very few people, lovely sea shells, perfect weather. Doesn't get better than that!

We are thinking of visiting Alligator Point for a week in September and are familiar with St. George Island and Apalachicola - should we stay where we know or venture into Alligator Point and try out the Bald Point State Park?

Alligator Point is not similar to St. George. St. George is more affluent and developed. For example, there's a good chance that you would not see anyone else at Bald Point in September. This is great if your fishing or... More

I will be staying near the beach of Bald Point State Park and will be doing alot of surf fishing for pretty much any and everything(shark, trout, redfish, stingrays). Were you targeting any certain species? Can you give a good area to fish at...or is pretty much the entire beach pretty good you think. What type of lures/baits/rigs were you using. What did you catch? sorry for all the questions...I'm just really excited about coming down in 3 weeks!!!! talk to you soon. Thanks
