This was beautiful scenery out in the middle of nowhere away from all the tourist hot spots. You self drive own rail car through assorts of areas each beautiful in its own right

The dedication and commitment of the local community to create this rail experience is amazing. While the concept of spending 45 minutes in a computer controlled personal rail cart reminder me a little of being in a Jurassic park movie, the trip was great fun and went very smoothly. If you are in Rotorua, this is a MUST do.

On a rather dreary day in Rotorua this sure delivered some sunshine. The cruisers are fully automated and idiot proof, and have great commentary along the way. Both of the boys rugged up in the front, while we sat behind them. The trip on the old tracks provided a great view of the bush, and farmland. Easy cruising at a... More

A rather lovely few hours spent in the very freindly and knowledgeable hands of vern. Jen and myself were fortunate to being given a railcar, the route is stunning and interesting even in the rain, the railcars are so very clever and hats off to you guys for designing them, the office is a film set and it is a... I did this activity on a bleak Sunday afternoon, and found the experience enjoyable. I did consider the ticket price, rather expensive. when considering the work that has gone into this venture by the owners, I felt that the price is reasonable. The journey, is along a short stretch of rail. What did impress me, is the technology, used by... More

Thoroughly enjoyable couple of hours. Was lucky enough to go on the first trip of the day at 09.00. Good value too. Comfortable carts with a heater and windscreen wipers! Take picnic and enjoy the views at the turn around area. Good facilities well thought out.

While pricey, years of lot of hard work has gone into cleaning up the track, getting the cars right & setting the business up. Lovely sights and interesting history.

We picked up the brochure in the hotel foyer, and it sparked our interest, and we were very glad that we booked. The drive out was quite pleasant, and the actual train trip was fun. It was a rather nice day and the views across the lake and beyond were clear. The story of the line and how the train... More
