Nice building and worth a visit. It's free so you've nothing to lose apart from some time. But if you're here for more than 24 hours you might be glad to find something which uses up some time.

The museum is quite small but nice and entrance is FREE. They mainly have temporary shows with contemporary art (videos, photos and installations). I was hoping to see some works from the Museum collection but unfortunately they were not on display. The museum also has a nice cafeteria downstairs. A good option for rainy days.

Moderna Museet is a 2 floor museum in the district of Caroli. 15mins walk from central station to museum. Or you can by bus (number 8,5,32 ) or any bus which stop at djäknegatan malmö station and walk for 6 mins. it is free entry with different contemporary artworks. Relatively amounts of media artworks display in here. it is quite... More

The museum recently introduced free entry (thanks to a government initiative giving free entry to all state-run museums, this being the only such one in Malmö but oh well), so thought we'd give it a go. It's worth visiting to have a look at the selection of art from the main Modern Museum in Stockholm. The selection is very small... More

I was really looking forward to this museum but was a bit disappointed. The museum is really small and it housed only some dozen or so works of art including video installations. The museum is free of charge and has a nice café - also the staff is really helpful and friendly.

I asked the concierge for directions to the museum of modern art, just a few blocks from our hotel, and I should have taken a clue from the pause that followed. Foolishly undeterred, I went anyway. Good thing it was free. The most disappointing thing about the whole experience was the recommendation from Lonely Planet which gave this place a... More

Yes it was free when we visited and there was quite a bit to look at. We didn't love it but then modern isn't really our thing. There are some renovations on the outside so keep walking around the side to the entrance.

This museum has some very interesting works and I remember taking a lot of photos while there. The museum has a lovely café that serves a nice lunch and is also free to the public.
