A nice area to walk through and around. Restaurants, cafes, shopping and bars. It has it all, I felt safe walking through with my partner also.

The place to go to for clubbing (especially Stureplan) and luxurious shopping, lots of beautiful buildings and classy places, but I just don't feel like at home there.
If you find a way to avoid all the shops and the crowds, can be a very nice place. There are parks and nice buildings and much more pleasant 'heart' of Stockholm than Gamlastan for example.

Staying in ostermalm is the very best thing in stockholm. Good hotels ,nice restaurants,super markets,rent a car office,metro station,tram station,bars,shopping mall and many shops (luxury and not) makes you feel safe. This peacefull neighbourhood is close to all atractions by 10 or 15 minute walk.

Fine late 19th century buldings. Broad avenues. Large apartments. Fine (and expensive) boutiques. The aristocracy, the upper middle-class and the nouveau rich live here.
