Stockholm has many outside attractions like Old Town (Gamla Stan) and the others. However, Djurgarden is the best with its historical places and a very nice park. In this park, you will see so many touristic attractions like Vasa Museum, Nordik Museum, ABBA Museum and many others. In summer time, you can walk around the park and sense the history... More

A must visit if you're in Stockholm....just a short boat ride (a nice trip in itself) or tram away, brings you to a beautiful place with a lovely peaceful vibe. As well as having many attractions and museums here, it is just lovely to stroll (or hire a bike) around nature surrounded by nice trees and gardens, as well as... More

An oasis of quiet in about 15 mins walking distance from the city centre (or a couple of stops on the tram) with parks and gardens for easy walking. Zoo and the Tivoli for the young and the ABBA museum for the opportunity to sing karaoke with ABBA! Stockholm has clean, though cold, air and a Djurgarden visit captures this.

You haven't really been to Stockholm unless you've been here. I recommend walking in and then getting the ferry to Slussen on your way back. Great for a walk, to get to gröna lund, take in some history, to to Skansen. Some parts are still very quiet if you're not into tourist traps. Safe to walk alone.

Nice stroll in the nature without leaving the city. Easy to access and a lot of different things to do. Either just enjoy taking a walk in the forrest or go to any of the many museums or Gröna Lund

Back in the days this island was the Kings hunting grounds and was sealed off from the public. Nowadays it is a large island with so many things to do, if you visit it as a tourist, you probably need a couple of days if you want to see and do it all. You have the famous Vasa museum, the... More

Staying in Djurgarden & Djurgardsbrunn

Neighbourhood Profile
Djurgarden & Djurgardsbrunn
The island of Djurgården and its northern mainland extension, Djurgårdsbrunn, impress with a mix of nature and an abundance of museums, while being located in walking distance to Stockholm’s city center. Djurgården not only invites visitors to take endless walks through a beautiful park landscape without having to leave the city, but also offers an incredible range of entertainment facilities, such as an open air museum which specializes in the Swedish way of life pre-industrialization, the renowned Vasa Museum with its legendary sailing ship, and Sweden’s most famous amusement park Gröna Lund, which is more than a 100 years old.
