i had the chance to see the lake on my way to Drottingen palace by boat. along the shore, there are so many houses in an orderly manner with many places to swim.

Whenever you are in Stockholm get to the waters edge. Whether it's skating in winter, swimming at the little beaches or sitting on the warm rocks with a picnic in Summer. The views around and across Mälaren are stunning!

We took a steamboat cruise on Lake Malaren. What a lovely way to see this lake. Just love the old buildings and boat life on the edge of the water.

Really scenic and beautiful, sometimes it is hard to tell if you are on the coast of the lake or the sea. You can see its scenery best by taking the boat trip to Drottningholm.

We has to chance to get a closer view of this magnificent lake from Sigtuna`s pretty little harbor. The view is impressive, especially by dusk and if you get the time, take a moment and just relax and enjoy the scenery for a while from...More

Its a great place to visit and spend a summer day with food and beer on the banks. A lake ride will do you good, and its quite cheap. See the City ...partly.... from the boat.

It was a touristy as we got. The commentary was a bit fruity ;-) Still it was a great orientation to Stockholm and helped us get our bearings as Stockholm can be a disorientating with all the water. It also gave an introduction to the...More

After touring the city it would be a nice idea to stop and take a look at the lake. Maybe grab a coffee and sit near by to watch the glass like or to think about what you've seen for the day.

I really enjoyed this trip into wild nature. A big, big lake, very peaceful, where you can just walk around or ride a bike. Perfect for kids. Relaxing and smooth.

This lake very easy to reach via hop on, hop off boats or serveral other water services. If arriving from downtown Stockholm have to go through a lock.

Malardrotningen Hotel /Yacht would be fun for kids, although cabins are small and you would need multiple cabins if you have more than two people in your party.

Lake Mälaren is part of Stockholm but parts of the lake are far from Stockholm such as the Krusenberg Herrgård housing which is closer to Uppsala than to Stockholm (aprox. 1 hour by car). I stayed at this property during... More

Hi Jenny, Boat trips leave from central Stockholm. We got the Under the Bridges of Stockholm boat tour from Nybrohamnen. It's a convenient place to get the boat as there is a cafe opposite on Strandvagen where you can take... More
