We got around okay but sometimes the audio didn't work, or the commentary was quite lacking in quality information. The first 4 places didn't have audio at all, after telling the driver he reset the system and it started working. At one place we waited 45 mins for a bus, in the cold. Only used it twice and we ended... More

Bus was late, very rude staff and there was very limitef audioguidance - maybe the driver forgot to press play but we didnt get almost any guidance through the headphones. I love the hop on hop off bus tours in other cities such as Edinbourgh, Paris, Vienna but this bus tour is not good. Dont waste your money on it.

Have been waiting 45 minutes now and still no bus at all, staff at site unhelpful and rude. Complete waist of time on holiday. Choose any different company for sightseeing.

What a disappointment. The ticket vendor and driver so friendly. Price seemed reasonable. The bus starts out as I'm plugging in my audio headphones. The headphones work but the plug in jack is either not working or there is much too much static. I cannot tell whether someone is speaking or not. I try the seat next to mine. Same... More

The views of the city are spectacular however, the service, is not up to the circumstances. The stops are not clear nor the time when you are supposed to be catching buses. It is not clear that there are more than one company and nor the driver or the information stands explains you which tickets are available and for what.... More

I am a massive fan of the hop on, hop off buses as a way to orientate yourself in a new city and to get a brief view of what's on offer to the average tourist. I've done them in many cities and have always given great reviews. This one, however, is not one of the better ones. The commentary... More

I have done many Hop on Hop Off buses in capital cities around the world and found them interesting and often a good way to get an overview of the city if you don't have a lot of time. Stockholm is a beautiful city but this tour is very lacking. Most of the beauty of Stockholm is best accessed on... More

Evert citytrip, we like to take a tour on a hop-on-hop-off bus to discover the city and travel around. We took a ticket for the Red Buses for 24 hours on the first evening. But the next day, we did nog see any of those buses, even though they claim to pass every 10 minutes. We payed a lot, and... More

4 adults payed 120 euro for waiting more than 50min at station #16. Is this a good service ? There is no table timing for buses stops along the bus tour. How can you plan your go&stop? It would have been cheaper to take the city bus ticket ...up yo you. I just gave my advice

Staying in Gamla Stan & Riddarholmen

Neighbourhood Profile
Gamla Stan & Riddarholmen
Gamla Stan is Stockholm’s historic old town and home to the Swedish Royal Palace. It’s the most central island of Stockholm and accompanied by the small island of Riddarholmen, mainly known for its famous Riddarholm Church. Gamla Stan tends to be a bit touristy at times but is definitely worth visiting: take a stroll past the well-preserved buildings and through the small (and also Sweden’s narrowest) alleys, which will make you feel like you’ve travelled back in time. This neighborhood offers a great combination of historical buildings and traditional Swedish restaurants.
