It's actually closed for renovations now, but it was packed with interesting demos before. I can't imagine why they dicided to renovate, since it was great!

This is a strange museum, I came away not really understanding a lot of what was on display. There are a lot of hands on exhibits where you can try out various musical instruments. Aside from this there were artworks ? sculptures? just an odd selection of stuff with not much explanation in English. There was a small section on... More

We dissapointed about the fact that museum is closed untill 2016. But nearby there is excellent army museum. We really advise to visit it.

I formerly LOVED the old cosy Musikmuseet - and so did my family and parents. Both small children and (very) grown up musical gourmets. Nowadays nearly all the charm is gone. The staff look grey and bored. The exhibition "Mascerade" was a good example of an exhibition without story, meaning or ... anything. What is the point? A brave person... More

This used to be our favourite museum in Stockholm and Sweden but now its image has changed. Its playful happiness and friendly staff has turned to grey and boring. New exhibitions are not user friendly at all. It is even more difficult to find stuff on their website thou it looks nice. And where are the hundreds of thousands of... More

Very nice museum but hard to find. Old sign on facade. Inside brilliant, interesting and much learnung by hands on. Text signs were good too! (More than usually in museums) Staff looking like swedish trolls - but serviceminded. Good for kids and adults. We be back!

A small music and theatre museum, close to the Army Museum. Some nice interactive areas for children of all ages. Some of the exhibits on the website are no longer there (folk instruments for example), at least short term, but the staff were excellent and went out of their way to help, including showing me one exhibit from the storeroom,... Not as much to do as they would have you believe. I think we have more musical instruments in our home than this place. And you probably do too. There seems to be a lot of - Under Construction - so this bodes well. If you like kids screaming and banging tunelessly on things, this is for you.

This museum is amazing and so much fun for children. We had to practically tear my 1-year-old grandson away from the instruments, he had so much fun playing them and hearing the different sounds. Unfortunately, we didn't have time to view the upper rooms; we only went to the basement and first floor. We only had 2 hours there before... More
