very popular on a sunny day. live music, sidewalk cafes. several blocks long. walk from city center to the water to see the boats. enjoy the flowers along the way.
Lot of people, crowded, but really nothing special. Don't, lose your time, there are much more interesting attractions in Helsinki.
This is the gathering place for tourists and locals alike. It was filled with people during our, end of July visit. Lovely flowers in bloom, benches to rest, lawns to sit, ice cream and coffee/tea vendors and people watching.

I quite enjoyed walking here as this is a special type of boulevards. It connects the Mannerheimintie with the Market Square. It is interesting though I would advise against going into the souvenir shops as they are quite expensive.
