Well curated and displays were both informative and interesting. I spent over 3 hours in there and time just flew by. Only fault was at times I was not sure how the exhibits were ordered.

An enjoyable museum. The displays were very good especially those of the early (prehistoric ) and Iron Age Finland. A thorough and well laid out review of Finland through the ages with English, Finnish and Swedish as the languages used in the visual guides. Audio...More

I felt that this place was a bit too expensive for what you get. 12€ is not worth it really, but they DO have some very nice pieces. I see it like there are two categories of people that would find interest in this place....More

Finland has a long and somewhat sad history. This museum provides an overview from the earliest settlers through the Swedish period and into the Tsarist Russian period.

A very good museum about Finland and if you are not too interested in the detail there is still a lot to see in a grand building - easy access from a tram

We came here when it started to rain, and it was a good afternoon activity. The museum is easy to navigate, is in a great building and has a lot of great displays for people unfamiliar with the history of Finland.

The museum showcases items related to the distant and modern history of Finland. The staff speak good English and enough information is provided about the items. My favourite part was the pavilion in the upper floor about the recent history of Finland. Don't forget to...More

Finnish history is very confusing and so is the museum even with a little guide. However well worth doing the ground and first floor, we didn’t get to the children’s hands on part above that. Don’t miss the amazing really old church statues, pulpits and...More
