The museum is interesting and interactive - you can play Angry Birds and experience virtual reality, for example. But most of it was closed, so there wasn't as much to see. They have reduced the entrance prices to compensate (so it's currently €7 for adults, €3 for students) but it was a shame that it wasn't all open. Worth visiting... More

I went to the Design Museum in Helsinki on our last day in Finland. Although I'm not an artist, or good at design in my own life, I appreciate the Scandinavian and Nordic aesthetic and was interested in learning more at this museum. Entry fee is 10 euros. The check-in employee was very helpful. It is a small- to medium-sized... More

Being a designer I wanted to see some of the Finnish design history. Sadly, not all of the exhibitions/museum was open so I didn't get to see as much as I'd hoped. However, the museum has a very nice shop!

A good place to learn more about Nordic/ Finnish design, with exhibits on famous Finnish products and designer. A bit disappointed that much of the exhibits were closed, perhaps prepared for the busier summer season. Probably explained why the charge was only EUR7 instead of EUR10

The last time I visited there was Eero Aarnio's retrospective exhibition. It was a so called changing exhibition. Some part of the exhibition area is dedicated for classical Finnish design. At the museum premises you can also find a shop selling books and designed object. A cup of coffee you can enjoy in the cafe in the same building.

We visited the Design museum on our cruise stop last summer. It was mentioned in Rick Steve's Scandinavian cruise book. It is in a nice but not well known spot, we took the bus plus 5-10 mins walk. Our family loved Design and Fins are known for their clean and functional product designs. We were lucky to see Eero Aarnio's... More

The permanent exibition illustrates the development of finnish design. While being small, I think the collection is very interesting.
