One of the most beautiful churches in Helsinki. Visit it around the year- its open daily - not during the ceremonials - I had my wedding here in 1995;)

This church from the 1890’s is set on a hill, with imposing steeples. Inside it’s quite simply decorated, when we visited an organist was playing on the rather large organ in the gallery. Nice spot to stop off whilst walking in the area.

Johannes church is simply beautiful , very rich unusual decisions inside and strong gothic outside. What is interesting - there are 5 main churches in Helsinki and all of them are absolutely different !

I am not a very religious person but this church had a special feel perhaps its external appeal that made me walk in. It was calm, peaceful and very beautiful. I liked being here.

Gothic style churches are not typical for Finland. This neo-gothic church right in the centre of the design-district of Helsinki is a gem to be seen by day and illuminated by night. Whether is summer against the azure blue Finnish sky or in winter against...More
