A little out of the way but oh, such fabulous scenery. A must place to see when visiting Iceland. Crystal blue water carving a canyon and water streaming from all along the lava wall. Hope you get there.

If you go to Iceland you will see dozens of waterfalls. Our favorite by far was Hraunfosser. The water was so blue you could tell it was glacier water. Even the water that was churning and foaming looked blue. There are several lookout points around the falls so you can get great pictures. It's only a short walk from the... More

We stopped here on a small group tour with our guide after visiting the Langjökull glacier and it is beautiful!!! It is truly a unique waterfalls. The water comes through/under the lava from the Langjökull (which is visible from here) and Eríksjökull glaciers and flows out again through lava tubes under the Hallmundarhraun lava field to the Hvítá (white) river... There are some outstandingly waterfalls in Iceland. This one is impressive and very different. Water coming through cracks in lava thus why the water not falling from the top. Easy to access and a few falls all in the one spot. Great photo point and worth the visit which is off the main route

Good viewing areas of these falls, where the water comes out of the rock, rather than over the top of it.

Gorgeous falls with lots of photo opps. We weren't there on the best weather day, and it was still beautiful and fascinating. Probably better when the new visitor center opens.

You view the falls from a walk way across the river. It is an easy walk and beautiful views. Walk to the bridge - the best pictures and views. If you are in the area - fantastic. Wouldn't say it was worth a visit if you had to drive an hour out of the way. The blue glacier water was... More

There were not many signs leading up to this waterfall. Definitely something to GPS. I loved this waterfall. It was different and a drive to get here. There is also another waterfall next to it, so check that one out as well!

This place was stunning. The way the water pours out of an underground river through the valley into the glacial river is gorgeous and the short but menacing falls the main river takes through the rivine is breathtaking. Worth a visit if you have time to head north of Reykjavik on one of your days.

Very impressive and beautiful view. We were there on snowy day making everthing even more beautiful. We could stay and meditate for hours if we weren't schedules for another excursion.
