Keflavik is probably less visited because of bigger hitters elsewhere on the island. Great views from the coastal walk. Not far from the international airport. The museum here is small but very well done and informative. Part museum and part art gallery. So much information about the country and the local way of life. There is an entrance fee,I can't... I finished lunch early, but I wish I finished it even earlier so I could have more time to peruse this museum before heading back on my flight. I paid about $12 to get in, but their 6 exhibits were definitely worth it. Whether you are a contemporary art fan, or a boat enthusiast, or an ornithologist (bird enthusiast), geology... More

This museum is based on artists perspectives. Each room has a theme based on some artists view on the history or their cultural aspects of the area

We had an overnight layover in Keflavik, and it was not convenient to go into Reykjavik because of the Flybus return schedule. So we took the local bus from the airport hotel to the Duushus Museum. It is about a 10-minute ride, then a 5 minute walk. It's right on the water, so it'll be cold, but you get that... More

We stopped in Keflavic on a rainy afternoon and decided to visit the Duus museum, if you are ever near take time to visit. There are 6 different exhibition rooms including an art hall which will have different artists throughout the year, and a boat hall containing over 100 hand made models and a pictorial history of fishing in Iceland.... I never saw so many boat models in my life. Great place to browse through on a rainy afternoon! The staff was very friendly.

We loved all the model boats and the stories along the wall. We were so lucky that a local artist from this town was just opening her exhibit. Clay sculptures with a flare for the eccentric. Loved the video of her making her artwork. We also enjoyed a free day.

If you're doing a stopover and staying in the town of Keflavik, this is a nice walk from the town core with beautiful scenery. Unlike everything in Iceland (including $5 for a small bottle of Fanta), the admission price wasn't too expensive. Interesting enough exhibits - but what really grabbed me was the artwork done by the kids. They have... More

We went here because the description intrigued us and according to guide book, we thought it was free. It is not free. Was it worth the admission price...maybe. I did learn a lot about the Iceland fishing industry.

We stayed close to the Museum. It gives a nice view of the local historical information and has handbags made from recycled material. Overall it is an interesting place worth a visit
