Elding is a tour supplier in Reykjavik offering whale watching and other adventures at sea all year round. We are conveniently located just off Reykjavik's old harbor. The various types of whales commonly sighted include minke whales, white-beaked dolphins, harbor porpoises and the popular humpback whales. We will be accompanied by sea birds such as gannets, puffins, guillemots, cormorants, gulls, kittiwakes, arctic terns, and many more. Check our online Whale Diary for daily updates on whale sightings. To make our tours even more comfortable, we provide our passengers with warm (and floatable) overalls and raincoats. For safety reasons, all children under 12 years of age are required to wear life jackets during the tour.

I booked an afternoon whale-watching trip on the spur of the moment and, unfortunately, saw no whales although there were many white-beaked dolphins and birds to make the experience worthwhile. The guide was knowledgeable and informative. I would definitely recommend the warm overalls, even if...More

We choose Elding since it had good opinion. We took off on the boat "Eldey" and decided to put on the warm overalls just for photography - but stayed in them the whole trip - since it's quite cold out there though the weather was...More

This review has 3 stars mostly based on our experience with bad weather and NOT the company or service crew as they were truly fabulous. We had rain the entire time, very rough seas and only managed to see a few dolphins and 2 whales....More

We booked the Midnight Sun tour - 2.5 hours from 830pm and had a great time. The boat is well equipped with protective suits, a bar and toilets, and the guides were so enthusiastic and genuinely adored what they did. We had a wonderful trip...More

This company is in a difficult position in relation to reviews. Your experience depends on what you see. We travelled out on the 6th July 1pm tour, and decided before hand that if we did not see anything then it was a three hour boat...More

We booked the Classic Whale Watching trip from Reykjavik and were surprised with the number of sightings we had. We went on the 5pm tour at the beginning of July. The weather was ok and the sea was calm so this increases your chances. We...More

We had a wonderful time with Elding's Puffin and Whale Watching tour! The first part of the tour is for the puffins, in a smaller boat that takes you as close to the island as possible. While we couldn't get very close that day, we...More

We recently did the whale watch & (separately) the puffin watch. The whale watch was well organised and had a knowledgeable guide on board. Unfortunately we only caught partial glimpses of any whales. I know there is no guarantee, but I have twice experienced much...More

I was traveling with a friend and our children and this tour was really a hit with the kids. They offer floating suits which keep you warm and safe. The night we went was quite cool and we were all happy to wear them. The...More

Hello Kerrinny, The Smyril Line is a ferry between Iceland, Faroe Islands and Denmark - it does not travel around Iceland. Check their schedule online: smyrilline . com/sailing-schedule Best regards, The Elding team
