At The Cinema, Old Harbour Village No2, are shown quality Icelandic nature films; volcanoes, northern lights, flora and fauna. The Cinema is located in the loft of an old fishermen´s dwellings, where the fishermen used to mend their nets, tar their boats, salt their fish and overnight in bed bunks. Redoing the loft the atmosphere of the old life was kept as much as possible, even so that the salt smell still lingers, but the main object was to provide ideal settings for showing quality Icelandic nature and documentary films. By reading the reviews of our visitors on The Trip Advisor pages it seems that we are having success ...

Came across this little cinema after we had had 2 Northern Lights trips cancelled due to bad weather. It was run by a film producer at the top of an original fisherman's house. We sat in large leather armchairs with a cup of tea and had a private viewing of his films of the recent volcanic eruption and the Northern... More

We were cold and wet when we walked into the cinema. We had gone in to the lobby to read the notice board about what was being shown when the man came and asked us if we wanted to see the film. As there were set times for the showings we said we were still thinking about it and he... More

Dear Jeanette, thank you very much for visiting our Cinema and taking the time to write a review. We are glad to hear that you liked our film - although we are not sure from your writing which one you did see? Yes, things are expensive in Iceland; price of EVERYTHING has tripled since the Crisis in 2008, and seems... More

This was like watching TV in your living room with a huge TV set!! Great Movies about the creation of Iceland and all the Volcanology that goes along with it! We watched 3 movies and got the bargain! The others were about Volcanic eruptions and the Northern Lights! Go check it out!

We stumbled across this place after a whale watching trip and we were pleasantly surprised. This tiny cinema was upstairs from street level. It was warm, cosy and well equipped with sound and light for our own private showing of the famous Icelandic volcano erupting and chasing the northern lights. The proprieter was friendly, welcoming and had a super little... More

A great cosy cinema. Popcorn beer and soft drinks at a good price for the city. The owner was happy to chat about his films, and even offerd advise on things to do during our stay. Highly recommended 👍

The Cinema No 2 is located in the Old Harbor upstairs and has many excellent movies. We viewed the one hour history of Iceland. It was scheduled for later in the day and we were flying out and couldn't come back. The owner and film editor was there and was willing to show it to us right then!! Who does... More

As we climbed the stairs to Cimema No 2, we were unsure what to expect. My daughter and I visited because our Northern Lights trip had been cancelled. We opened the door to reveal a large room scattered with comfortable sofas and chairs and tables with informative books on Iceland. We were the only two there but the friendly cinema... More

Was told by friends to stop and see this film. We knew the showing was 5 pm but stopped by around 3. There was a sign out that the show was sold out for the 5 pm show. We went in anyway and the husband and wife team welcomed us in and told us they would show us the northern... More

When me and my family came here we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the cinema after seeing how small it was from the outside. It is a very cosy set up with a few rows of chairs and sofas in the corners. Drinks and snacks are available to perchance. The house had originally been somewhere for fishermen to... More

Thank you for coming to our show and writing such nice review! We apologize for the late response - but better is late than never, right? Yes, from the outside the house looks small and difficult to see the loft where The Cinema is located - but it is quite large, with a large screen where the films are shown;... More

So my friend suggested we stop here because she had read some reviews all saying that this place was great and totally worth stopping in. I was disappointed, we watched 2 documentaries and they were OK. The room is on the top floor and and set up like a living room or rec room, with chairs and chesterfields. The man... More
