The museum is relatively small with 3 rooms and a small exhibition space. One room was dedicated to a contemporary exhibit of long multi-colored ropes of hanging hair. The 2nd work has a large collection of contempory/pop artists. The 3rd room shows more traditional artists...More

After a long fun night out, we decided to check out a few museums around Reykjavik. The National Gallery of Iceland definitely made our list and I am glad it did. The most prolific portion of the gallery, in my humble opinion, was the theater...More

There was a Picasso on exhibit (Jacqueline). Worth a visit - majority of the paintings done by painters in the 1800-1900s.

This small museum highlights Icelandic artists through the ages, from early folk art-type paintings to contemporary installations. The interpretive descriptions did a...More

It has three floors with different type of art. None of it was my thing. Ok to kill some time, but don‘t expect too much.

We went to kill time and we accomplished our goal. 3 floors of different pieces of art, but not our cup of tea. I am sure others will like it.

A lovely place for a short visit and a coffee with your citypass! Some interesting paintings and a very quirky temporary exhibition.
