We enjoy going to art museums but this one had us both puzzled. VERY modern art and difficult for us to enjoy especially without a docent. One example - there was a large pile of rubble (construction debris, cardboard, etc) by the front desk. We're...More

Every time I come to Reykjavik I come here just to go to the gift shop. They have great selection of art cards- scarves- posters- and books. Even if you aren't into museums or galleries, the gift shop is worth a visit.

Great pictures by the Icelandic artist Erro. I thoroughly enjoyed the unique art in this gallery. The staff were friendly and helpful. If you only have time for one museum and gallery this is the one I would recommend.

Four of us found the first four exhibits not to our taste (the videos in 2 were really quite unpleasant) but the final two were terrific.

Admittedly, a museum can be hit or miss depending on whether you like the current exhibition. We happened to get lucky and enjoyed all the works on display at the time of our visit. Make sure to visit the museum's website ahead of time to...More

There are some interesting video and paintings but the museum is very small. I had my fill after about 45 minutes at most.
