This is the worst zoo I've ever been in. I went with my girlfriend and we were very excited to see the happy animals and enjoy a good time. All we saw were depressing and sad animals. They had no emotions and just stood in...More

Absolutely horrendous. Cows, pigs and goats kept inside with barely enough room to turn around in. Was very sad to see. Little food for the indoor farm animals. No food at all for the horses or reptiles. All animals looking depressed and subdued. So heart...More

Went to visit today, most of the animals were inside in cramped enclosures, with barely enough room to turn around, and little/no food. Worst was two artic foxes kept in a small glass box. Had to leave, just appalling welfare standards.

This place should be shut down! I cannot say anything for the 'park' section of the place, as after five minutes in the 'zoo' section, my wife and I left, feeling depressed and sickened. The seals were in a small, concrete enclosure, with nowhere to...More

The animals are in terrible conditions. They have half the space of the childrens play area and are stuck in tiny dirty pens in tiny sheds. The seals swim the same small loop for hours exhibiting captivity stress behaviour, all the animals try to hide...More

My wife and her Icelandic friend wanted to do some shopping for a special dinner and dropped me and my daughter at the Reykjavik family zoo. I did not have too many expectation, but it turned out to be an entertaining 75 minutes. The 'zoo'...More

The zoo area is mainly populated by farm animals. It's not really a petting zoo, so don't try to stroke them! They do have seals, foxes and mink as well. I see comments about welfare conditions on here. I accept others' points of view however...More

I went with my two young kids (boys aged 6 and 4) during our weeks vacation to Iceland. What was originally intended to be a 1 hour visit on a rainy morning turned into spending most of the day there and having to drag my...More
