The Hofdi House established its place in history when it hosted the summit between Reagan and Gorbachov, which lead to the massive downsizing of nuclear armaments, helping to make the world a safer place.

This is the place where the historic meeting between President Reagan and Premier Gobachev was held, ending the Cold War and renewing relations between our countries.

You don't get to go inside but there is a piece of the Berlin wall, painted by a local artist on site.

Like other Reviewers have already noted, this is a site of historical importance. So, for those with an interest in history from the end of the Cold Era, this is a must-see stop. There is a piece of the Berlin Wall located on the premises...More

We weren't able to go in, but it was interesting to walk around Hofdi House and hear the story of Reagan and Gorbachev's history meeting there. It is a quiet representation of Icelandic confidence, organization, and competence.

Hofdi house is where Reagan and Gorbachev had a summit meeting prior to the Berlin wall coming down. Well situated on the coast with detailed information.

History was made at the Hofdi House, so if nothing else have a photo taken on the steps outside! Fascinating place.

Most people aren't aware, but this place being the spot where the Cold War ended is of great historic significance. Also, before that, the history on how the house was built, disassembled, shipped and assembled once more is very interesting. A must-see of Reykjavik.

It's worth seeing if you know or are told the history. It's also a scenic place with the city in the background. There is statuary and a piece of the Berlin wall also at this stop.
