A pleasant walk around this lake, open space and a graveyard, surrounded by interesting streets. This is an easy way to enjoy the city whilst getting some peace and exercise. We found a house with a whole family history pinned outside - fascinating and a...More

Many different birds to feed here. They are very friendly and seem used to people. If you go to Bonus and grab a cheap loaf of bread to feed them they would love it.

Swans and ducks everywhere! Bit of a madhouse when they start competing for food - out Dog wouldn’t know which way to turn if he was here!

Besides the ducks and many swans to watch, there were several cafes to enjoy coffee or lunch. There is also shopping around the beautiful lake, also.

What a lovely space Reykjavik has provided for people to catch their breath, feed the water fowl, and enjoy some peace! It's lovely to walk around and people watch, too.

It's center Reykjavik, yet very serene. On a sunny day, the water is so still that it looked like a mirror! Accessible, close proximity to Hallgrimskirkja, city center and many restaurants.

We enjoyed walking around the lake and feeding the birds. It was just a peaceful quiet place. It was very clean as well, which has got to be a challenge with so many birds.

Walked around town at night and ended up here to see the statues. Little did we know that it would be dark enough along the lake that we got to see a faint glimmer of the Northern Lights. Every other day of our trip was...More

If it’s on the ice a nice easy walk in 20-30mins. If it’s off the lake on the road 30mins.

Hi, the lake was still frozen when we visited last week. People were walking on it but I didn't see anyone ice skating.
