Great way to exercise in nature

Love the Gorge loop more than any other bush walk in the Manawatu. And it's so popular so it must be great, right? Would recommend for anyone that s looking for a nice walk

A very scenic drive through the gorge with great views of the Manawatu river and railroad and tunnels alongside the other side of the gorge. Believe can be very icy in winter months

Perfect place for a quick but intensive workout, Easily managed by myself and the children, Probably needs some filling in along places but other than that its a nice place to get some decent exercise in.

We did the Tawa loop track on New Year's Day and enjoyed the sights. Lots of other friendly people out there. clean and clearly signposted with toilets at the carpark. The walk starts along... More

A great walk through the bush and great views over the large slip area. Plenty of bird life to see and hear.

The loop track is great for a family. A climb to begin with but great views over the gorge if you take the extra turn off. Doing the full walk from Balance to the Ashhurst is lovely.

The gorge track is a little challenging but it is so worth the effort. I don't do much hiking and to start I wondered what I had said yes to but after getting into the walk I really started to enjoy myself and the views are to die for. There are a couple of areas that are slightly steeper than... More

Heaps to see and walks to take, well worth the effort, we even went on a rainy windy day but where protected on the walk as its mostly through the trees. Good parking worth reading the information boards.
