Enjoy a day in the animal kingdom – GIVSKUD ZOO is only a 25-minute drive from Billund. Take the family on safari in your own car or on the GIVSKUD ZOO Safari Bus. Get closer to the animals! You drive across the African savannah, where zebra and giraffes have right of way.Continue into the Lions' Den. This is dangerous territory! Feel the thrill as the big cats lumber past your car. Do you dare? The pride of lions in GIVSKUD ZOO is Denmark's biggest, so you are always sure to see lots of the big cats. Don't forget to visit our tropical house with our newest species of carnivores, the South American giant otters. See them swimming in their pool and watch them being fed. Throughout most of the season, the elephants, gorillas, lemurs and other species are fed daily. Children are welcome to help the zoo guide feed the camels! If you need to take a break from the animals, GIVSKUD ZOO has lots to offer the whole family – it's a great place to play, relax and have fun! Visit the teepee camp, where children can bake bonfire bread and pan for gold just like real gold diggers.Let the children run wild on our huge play area. There are areas specially reserved for toddlers – so Mums and Dads can relax while the children play. Take your children for a ride on the Safari Train. With the driver's help, children are even allowed to feed the animals. Small children love "Stroke a goat". In fact, it will probably become their favourite place in the zoo park.

This is a very family friendly zoo. Lovely open enclosures, nice combination of safari and zoo you can walk through the lemur enclosure, drive past the lions and there's even a dinosaur walk with massive dinosaur statues with great photo opportunities! Great for small children plenty of playgrounds and a movie corner in the restaurant. You can either drive round... More

We spent almost an entire day there, even though it was raining for most of the day. We had booked (in advance, online) the Good Morning zoo tour where you got to meet the lions up close and to feed the rhinos etc. The main commentary was in Danish, but English was available too. The tour included normal entrance tickets... More

We were there during summer time, and it was a very nice day. The safari bus is a good investment as you get way more infomation that you will have done just by walking around on your own. We have a yearly ticket(årskort) for Odense Zoo, so the entrance was free for us. The part of the Zoo with the... More

Must visit place for animals, safari and newly created Dino park. Not only children but adults also love this place. Good parking facilities and not so costly yearly pass. We can visit many other places with the pass.

We were staying in near-by Lalandia in Billund - this place is easily accessible by bus if you have no car. We bought discounted ticket on-line in advance, although did have to pay extra for the safari bus to take us through the enclosures - well worth it. We had a full day out here and we all enjoyed ourselves.... More

A nice zoo, although a little spread out so best in if have the car with young children (not so easy to walk through it all as Odense zoo). Great play areas and goat petting area. Lots and lots of wasps this year!

Givskud zoo was a nice surprise, the grounds were wast and very well kept and the animals looked well cared for. The absolue highlight is the safari ride through the lion's area, where you can experience the majestic animals up close. Don't open the car doors or windows, though. Gorillas, tigers, rhinos, giraffes, elephants, camels, emus and what not. Not... More

My son and I spent about 5 hrs her but 3-4 would have been enough (we only stayed longer while waiting for a bus). You can walk round the park in a couple of hours & see all the animals. In that time you can also see the dinosaur park. Some of them are quite impressive in size but modern... More

As with most families who head to Billund, LEGOLAND was our primary objective, however we booked Givskud zoo as part of the package with the hotel to include accommodation, LEGOLAND entry and the zoo, and really glad we did. We travelled up from Germany and decided to visit the zoo in the afternoon and this worked perfectly. There were no... More

Overall the idea about combining some safari trips in your own car with more traditional zoo areas where you walk around is great: For instance it is great for smaller kids and grand parents who might not be able to keep going for half or a whole day in a traditional zoo where you have to do the whole park...
