It is a private-owned museum hosted in an 18th-century village house. Historic objects associated with Gozo’s traditional trades, crafts and pass times are what are exhibited out here and it reminded me of similar I see in villages in Cyprus. On the whole the island of Gozo reminded me of my country and I loved it. I plan to return... More

The ideal place where history, culture and tradition meet and one can experience ancestors' work at first hand. The museum is situated exactly in a lovely quiet square of Gharb, Gozo.

This beautiful rhiad style house is in the centre of Gharb by the bus-stop and packed with amazing items from all aspects of traditional local life. There is limited printed info' but the owner is there to answer any questions you may have; my only negative is that many exhibits are very very dusty, but 28 rooms would need a... More

In need of a tidy up but a lovely museum for those who are interested in the islands history. Lots to see for the money, however opening times are loose. Worth a look if you are staying in Gharb!

The Folklore Museum in Gharb is a private museum located in what must be one of the prettiest and least spoilt villages on Gozo. Gharb is a stone’s throw from San Lawrenz, close by the Azure Window on the west coast. It’s a 15-minute bus ride from Rabat (Victoria) to the village, and the bus drops you right opposite the... A rabbit warren of a place- this museum is inside the citadel, but the exhibits themselves are pretty low key- it is the structure and interior of the house I enjoyed the most.
