We came across the Lower Barrakka Gardens during our day trip to Valletta. It was a haven of peace and tranquility and a great place to stop and take some time to soak up the lovely colours and aromas of the flowers and plants there....More

Beautiful garden with breath taking views, Pity the charming fountain in front of the Alexander Ball monument was not functioning.

The Lower Gardens are mainly for locals. Older people from Malta go there every afternoon to sit down, relax and to talk. They spend time there. It's their spot. So, be courteous and polite and respect people's private moments!

Small gardens, but ideal for resting with good views across the harbour. Not as busy as the upper gardens, so more relaxing.

If going for a walk around Valletta it is worth popping into these gardens. They have beautiful views of Malta, and the gardens themselves are lovely, I would say the nicer out of the two (lower and higher gardens)

Not as busy as upper Barrakka Gardens and much smaller but some great spots for photos and you can see the cruise ships coming and going. Best to go early when not so hot i find. Great place to relax as well

On the northern side, closer to the tip of Valletta peninsula are these cute gardens. Smaller in size than the Upper ones, they also offer great views and great place to cool down in shade.

Although I know it's quite a nice place, albeit rather small (this wasn't my first visit), I ended up being disappointed, for the gate was closed and we got sent away without any notice and without any note, sign or any other clue it was...More
