Really small theatre, €5 for a tour with a headset, not worth it unless you've run out of things to see in Valletta

Already in 1731 there was this theater. Unfortunately there are very few performances, but the little theater - only 623 seats is wonderful. Golden painted, nice boxes and very good accustic.

Attended a pantomine with my family. Lovely experuence overall. Location is in the heart of Valletta, not difficult to find. Park lighting and setup was really good. The downside is that seating is a bit crammed. I am 183cm tall and my legs were all the time touching the seat in front if me. Apart from that, the quality of... More

The Manoel Theatre is Malta's National Theatreand the oldest one in the Commonwealth. It has picturesque architecture. It is a must to visit for anyone who visits Malta especially if they are theatre lovers

This is an hour spent in heaven, whether you are a theatre buff like me or not. A tiny gem, just 600 seats and so much history. Like all theatres these days, it's hanging on financially by its finger tips, but it's trying so hard to be relevant in a digital, short attention span world. Our brilliant guide enthused us... The information area was interesting but what really made it a very special visit was the fact there was a rehearsal of a youth orchestra going on. Sat in the stalls having tramped round Valetta and listened to Verdi and Mozart in a wonderful old theatre. Also it gave a good insight into the work that goes on before a... More

The theatre is the third oldest in Europe and has had its ups and downs over many years. Now under the Maltese government heritage wing, it has been extensively restored to its glory of former times. The entrance price of €5 includes an audio guide, one of the clearest and most informative that I have come across. The theatre itself... More

A bit different to usual list of attractions & sites in Valletta. Definitely worth a visit. Historic building with beautiful auditorium and collection. Useful audio guide. Don't forget to ask for senior discount (if you qualify) for extra value

5 euro for a self guided tour and take as long as you want to sit comfortable and cool in the theatre soaking up the atmos. If you are interested in theatre history, this is a must-do as it is so old with a small but interesting selection of artefacts and documents to enjoy. They are fine with photography ,... More
