If you are in klaksvik, it is worth going there. When we stood in the church someone working there gave us a tour and informed us about all interesting elements of the church. So they are extremly friendly there. The picture behind the altar is...More

As we met our new local friend who we got to know thanks to Couchsurfing, the church was the first place he took us to - he said it was a must-visit point of our short visit to Klasvik. Being a part of Klaksvik community,...More

The church has to be closed, but was open with no lights. Dramatic? No, suggestive, as the wooden boat on the rooftop.

This church might be the most interesting in the Faroes - large by Faroese standards, airy, and with a really interesting architecture and history. There was a volunteer around to explain the story of the actual boat hanging from the ceiling, and also to point...More

A church not like others in the Faroes. One of the first major churches in Scandinavia to be inspired by the old Nordic style. The roof is in Viking style. It is likely the only church with a reel boat hanging from the roof, a...More

This church is quite unlike most other churches in the Faroes. There are usually either old timber churches or monstrous modern churches. This church is based on Faroese styles but updated. It is the only church with a real life sized boat hanging from the...More

Klaksvik was one of our stops on our driving tour of the Faroe Islands, from our cruise ship. The panoramic views of this rugged area in the North Atlantic Ocean were stunning. Klaksvick is an important town/city for the inhabitants. And located here is this...More
