Well worth a visit

This museum has a bit of everything, from prehistoric cave dwellers to ipods. The place is quite spread out and haphazard so it's easy to get lost. That's part odd the fun though!

I saw a very poor exhibition of Football. It was terrible. I am not a technophobe but it was difficult to follow. It was super glitzy and impressive but not at all interesting especially as I know nothing of football nor interested in it. The museum was a bit of a mess.

Great museum to wonder round. There's floors of interesting artefacts and artwork. English guides available in each room either on boards on in book forms. Great rainy day activity.

Spending an afternoon in Luxembourg City I decided to visit one museum and because of the Tripadvisor ratings I chose this one. As I was at the end of my visit I only had half an hour to visit so I couldn't see everything - actually I could only see a fragment but next time I'll revisit when I'll make... More

This museum was superb. There were several floors dedicated to archaeology and to an array of ancient and modern paintings. The archaeology told the story of the city and was exceptionally well presented. All this for no fee. Amazing.

This stellar museum stimulates good reviews for a reason: it is outstandingly rich with treasures. Of interest to us was the wealth of artifacts coming from very early settlements and then the nexus with Roman Occupation. There is much more, of course, as has been noted. But for the children of European immigrants -visiting from the Western Hemisphere- it is... More

We expected there to be a higher ratio of art pieces than historical artefacts and were pleasantly surprised by the diversity of collections in this museum/ gallery. The lower floors hold prehistoric finds such as pottery, utensils etc moving up to Iron and Bronze Age, on to Roman mosaics and statues and then to medieval manuscripts, more archeological finds and... This is well worth spending an hour here. Full of interesting exhibitions that change . The staff are friendly and welcoming (not the case with all Lux museums!) and the cafe is a little jem - just try the hot chocolate!.
