While walking from Grund up to town don’t miss to visit the casemates, the caverns under the upper part of the town, that used to give shelter to soldiers and to better defend the forteress. Best in May-September.

The caves are closed during the winter months due to danger of slipping. If you make your way down to the Grund, valley, you can look up to the cave windows.

Take a walk around Luxemburg city center. Take the elevator down to Grund and walk up to Casemates du Bock. Enjoy the view from up there!

Climb up from the Grund to the Casemates, and enjoy the views of the Alzette river below. Impressive construction, and alot of history here, well worth a few hours walking around and exploring the area.

as far as I know it is closed until February. "Période d’ouverture : 18.2 - 5.11.2017" this is what they say on their Web page.
