I love this place and the history and seeing the artifacts. Very cool on a scorching hot day. I would visit again if I'm in this area again. Toilets, cafe, gifts.

Not a very interesting museum unless you are very keen on ancient wood. Don't make a special trip, but by all means go in if you are passing.

Been to Kyrenia castle several times, love the views. It is great to explore, the kids both love it (aged 10 and 4). It is very informative, never needed a guide however they are available. some parts are quite narrow and steep. wear decent shoes not flip flops, reasonably priced cafe inside the castle grounds for drinks and ice creams... Within the impressive Kyrenia castle, and tucked away, is the home of a 300 BCE ship, wrecked of the northern coast as its sailed the waters close by. Their is evidence that the ship was subject to piracy, with spear points embedded in the interior hull, and with a curse tablet" hammered into the woodwork, to send the plundered ship... More

This is inside Kyrenia Castle (see previous review) Not to be missed. The ancient boat is well preserved and brilliantly displayed and the cargo exhibits are fascinating.

The castle and views were great (if rather cold/windy in mid March!) but the highlight has to be one of the earliest remains of a ship in the world. Far,far older than Mary Rose!

The Hellenistic shipwreck is spectacular. However, the standards of conservation are abysmal. The space is not only not temperature or humidity controlled, there are actually holes to the exterior.

Decided to visit the castle which we really enjoyed only to find this little treasure at the end of our afternoon. This was very interesting and unique. You will not be disappointed.

This is a small, well laid out museum of artifacts recovered from a 2,300 year old shipwreck. However, the "icing on the cake" is the actual shipwreck itself is there to be seen (accessed by stairs up to the second floor).
