I visited when this was full of tour groups, so go in the morning or perhaps just before closing. The cathedral is stunning and it often hosts concerts. Look for the 7 organs, including the spot where Mozart once worked.

Stumbled across this church when walking around the city centre and was pleasantly surprised. The interior was stunning and so detailed and you wouldn't expect it to look like that from the outside. Well worth a visit if you're in the area.

Whilst exploring Salzburg Old Town it is certainly worth popping into, to admire the majestic and beautiful interior. Again free but a lot quieter than the main cathedral.

The Franciscan Church is one of the oldest churches in Salzburg. It seems as if the church consist of 2 buildings: a romanesque and central aisle and a gothic much higher choir.

This church is quite unique compared to other churches you will visit in the region. It was the coldest church we entered. The carved white walls and columns make the more ornate alter and dome stand out as points of focus. The benches with the leaning backs were nice to use while admiring the ceiling.

This church was by far my favorite in Salzburg. I would dare to say that it was even more special than the Dom. The mix of Romanesque, Gothic and Baroque was well played and thought out. The altar was beautiful, but the ceiling was amazing. It reminded me of beehives. I found this church so inspiring that I felt the... More

The church is on a slightly offbeaten track/route. The churh is extraordinarily beautiful with elaborate carvings and beautiful architecture. The church has a Romanesque style to it. The ceiling and altar are quite ornate

This historic and ancient church in Salzburg is slightly off the beaten path, but so breathtaking on the inside... Its a bit dark, so open the exposure on your camera, and it reveals all the elaborate carvings and details.. A quiet visit, you can sense the serenity of years of history in this beautiful church...

This Romanesque church is filled with type features including the lion that leads to the pulpit. Make sure to look up and check out the ceiling. The altar is a bit ornate.
