In tandem with Mozart's birthplace, this museum gives you a solid overview of his life and works. This one focuses primarily on his music, and includes musical instruments -- some that are no longer manufactured. The best thing about the museum is the high-quality audio guide, which gives you lots of information and music. The audio guide is available in... More

The museum is not that big as it seems to be. Of course it is a must have place to visit in Salzburg as it is a Mozart's city but speaking about the most precise objects. These are only his first and second piano-organs. All the other things are portraits, letters etc.

Salzburg itself is a little magical town, and birth place of W.A.Mozart. Very interesting museum in the city centar is a place you should not miss. If you expect something extraordinary you might end up dissapointed, but for the quick overview of Mozart's life it is good enough, recommend audio sightseeing.

I'm sure that serious music lovers will love this place but we were looking more for the living quarters of the family and family history but it is decatated to his music

Nicely presented information with hand held audio guide. Lots of interesting letters, musical instruments and artefacts to see. Allow a good hour to see everything.

This featured much more of Mozarts life and family than the Mozart Birthplace. An unescorted tour but there was a lot of in-depth information of the Mozart family and of WA Mozart himself. It was interesting to see how his family, and he himself, evolved around Salzburg and latterly Vienna. A lot of urban myths were put to bed. A... More

This museum is much more interesting and informative than just visiting his Birthplace in the old town. It is well set out with detailed information about Mozart's life and the music he wrote. The audio devices are excellent.

A great way to spend a rainy day. Fascinating insight to a wonderful musician/composer. Exhibition is well organised and accompanying information is interesting.
