Description:

We visited Innsbruck as part of a 3 week Interail tour around Europe in the summer. We didn't take any walking gear and weren't sure if we should head up the mountains without. However we're so glad we did. The cost of the cable car is included in the Innsbruck card which I would recommend. The journey up is breath-taking.... More

We went right to the top on a slightly dull day but it was still worth the trip for the fantastic views. The restaurant at the top served us a lovely lunch.

It is absolutely worth it!! Devote at least 2 hours for it however!! Beautiful views, and fun places for a drink and to play in the snow for the kids too . Be warned that the cable cars can go jam packed with people... and many tourists do not respect the lines.

It is worth it but it is rather expensive (32 E uro per person) for what you get...Trolley line number 6 takes you on the other side of town for 1/30 of the price and views are also amazing . That said the ride is wort it and views are spectaculatr.

I was stopping over in Innsbruck for one day/night on my way to Salzburg so I had to choose carefully where I went. I chose the Nordkette and I must say I am so glad I did. Absolutely Heavenly. The views are spectacular from any of the stations. I went all the way to the top (Hafelkaar) although it was... More

Wonderful ride! Make sure to go all the way up and have plenty of time for the whole trip as trains on the second leg run every 30 min.

Great value to do this if you have an Innsbruck card as it's included. We took the funicular from congress and then two cable cars. We had no views as there were low cloud cover but I can imagine on a good day the views will be amazing.

This is one must places to visit - views spectacular! The cable car ride was smooth and quick. If you are in great shape you can walk up there. Even on top there are many trails you can take to explore the mountains an take in the view.

This is such a great thing to do, get on near the concert hall and either stop off at the Alpine Zoo, if you are good at snowsports head further up when the snow is good. There is a restaurant at the top over winter when the snow is good, a little pricey but you'll never beat the view at... More
