The Ankeruhr is a must-see if you're visiting Wien at noon, it depicts important events in the history of Austria telling a story in a unique way.

Just stumbled upon his clock while walking around. It is very unusual but quite a beautiful clock that utilises historical figures to tell the time and plays music at noon. It is worth seeing if you are in the area.

I come here with not having intension to see it was only a little luck because I could here beautiful classic music played somewhere and then i see people standing there looking up to clock and listning to the music. So it was a nice moment to hear classic music and rest some minutes while the song was played.

Walking distance from historic area and if you have a few extra minutes something worth seeing. Not much else in the area.

Anker Clock is a typical Art Nouveau design. People love to watch the daily parade at noon when all 12 historical figures cross the bridge. A fantastic performance and worth watching!

This historic clock plays music every one hour when one character makes an appearance. Once a day, at noon time, all of the characters "perform" together. Very nice - not a "must".

The clock itself is beautifully crafted, but unfortunately we weren't there for the magic that happens on the hour! There is not much else in this square, except for a fairly decent Merkur store selling nice wines and cheeses.

I was walking around and decided to come close to have a look. I was lucky to get there on time when the clock started to "play" music. Very nice!

This historic clock is a step from Stephansdom. It really is so unique that the descriptions cannot do it any justice. The time to go is on the hour to see the mechanism.

On one corner of the old Hohger Market is this beautiful moving clock with moving figures on the hour. The best viewing time is noon when it goes through all twelve figures and hours as bells ring with accompanying music. Quite the sight. Really special to see. Right next to it is the new Mercury market on three floors which... More

Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the centre. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
