Very nice concert hall. Beautiful building, good acoustics. We visited the classical Mozart concert there. The concert itself was not the best, but the building is beautiful anyway.

The famous Musikverein in Vienna, home to so many magical concerts including the famous New Year's Day concert is a definite 'must see' for anyone interested in Viennese music. It is of course best appreciated through attending a concert which I did a few years' ago but one can also go on a guided tour which is well worth doing.... More

My group of 5 (all in our 20s) went to a concert here in the main hall. We got seats in the galleria (only place left by the time we booked). We purchased our tickets via email because their website was having issues. It was very easy to pick up the tickets once the hall opened in the evening. The... More

There are other music venues with great acoustic - die Gesellschaft der Musikfreunde built a venue that not only provides an acoustic but also a visual experience - and yes it is relatively small. This is the location where the Neujahrskonzert of the Vienna Philharmonic is performed - ticket from Ambassador or head of state upwards or by lottery. But... More

We saw a concert in the golden hall and it was fantastic. The acoustics were wonderful and the concern hall gorgeous. We got tickets for the side balcony and it was not very pricey. Totally worth the experience.

Enjoyed the experience of seeing the elaborate golden interior of this Viennese building. Music wise - certainly commercial - not for the serious classical music lovers. Ideal for weekend break tourist. Would definitely agree with previous reviews re the lack of management using mobile phones and restricted view from seating. I gave up trying to get good view from my... More

If you have a chance to take in a concert in the Musikverein in Vienna, it is well worth it. The concert hall is of serious artistic interest. Also, the acoustics are very good too. We happened to have the opportunity to see Daniel Barenboim conduct. Excellent!

The last few tourist trips I realized that it pays to do at least one major event that is a local expertise in the site visited. This makes a lasting and meaningful experience. If you do this, go to the best, regardless of the cost. In the case of Vienna, this would be classical music, where I have good memories... More

We saw a Mozart concert here in the golden hall and it was excellent. It is a bit difficult to find. It's actually behind the Hotel Imperial if you're needing a reference. I highly recommend a show here. We chose the front row of the balcony and they were perfect. The sound is amazing in the hall. We bought tickets... More

Neighbourhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the centre. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
