Crown jewels, vestments, regalia, religious artifacts military honours are contained in this museum. The audio guide is good but probably more information that most would need but it's easy to fast forward. My only criticism would be about the signage as it is a bit confusing but each display is labeled with the guide number so you just have to... More

The treasury contains some of the greatest royal treasure in Europe. The audio guide is excellent and gives you a lot of essential history of the pieces and how they fit into the history of the empire. The crowns are amazing. Super Place.

Visited Vienna many times, first time here - well worth the visit, but more so if a history (especially Catholic church history) enthusiast.

This tour costs 17 euro each but worth it. The tour gives one a good history of the crown jewels of the Hapsburg dynasty with displays. I was impressed by the artifacts on display.

A slice of history, well worth the price of the entry ticket. The audio guide is exhaustive, and informative.

Housed in part of the Palace proper this is a wonderful collection of official jewels, gowns and objects d'art of the family from their beginning up to the end of empire. Includes many items from the time of the Holy Roman Empire until its end in 1805. Then other items up to the end of the Austrian-Hungarian Empire at the... More

Beautiful crown jewels of the Hapsburg dynasty are on display here. Not as impressive as the crown jewels in England but pretty close.

It had been at least 25 years since my last visit to the Schatzkammer. And off course I knew what to expect: crowns, jewelry etc from the Habsburg-era. It was however disappointing to see that in 25 years nothing has been changed. Clearly: a different approach, changing exhibitions etc could make this museum much more interesting. The collection itself is... More

This place is a must visit if you are in Vienna for a couple of days and don't want to spend too much time in other grand museums in Vienna. Without investing too much time, you will see some of the best ornaments with tremendous visual appeal. We were here for a couple of hours and had a money's worth... More

If you love history and the artefacts that go with it, Vienna doesnt disappoint. A highlight of this was the Imperial Treasury of Vienna. I didnt know what to expect and thought it might be a small exhibition, however....The amount the museum has to show and offer is exceptional and worth every penny. The journey it takes you through is... More

Staying in Inner City

Neighbourhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the centre. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
