On the way to or from Belvedere Palace, it's a nice little area to relax and stop to rest your feet for a while. Large fountain with a monument to the Red Army as well near to it.

When you have worn out your feet, it is a handy place to sit by the fountain in the sun or shade. The Red Army memorial here also puts Vienna's Second World War history in context.

Exploring Vienna on foot we came upon Schwarzenbergplatz, this is a small square filled with a large water fountain and a large Soviet memorial right by a very busy ring road. The square is named after the army commander Prince Karl Philipp of Schwarzenberg who...More

Square itself is not really large, but it has very nice fountain by which you can relax. Also, famous monument to the Red army is located at this square as well.

Factor in some wonderful buildings around like the French Embassy building then you get a pretty impressive location. It's also a...More

It is very impressive, as it would be as it was built by the Russians. Worth a look and it is along a good route between belvedere and karlskirche.

The platz is dominated by the Soviet War Memorial and fountain. The monument is very much in the Soviet style and commemorates the capture of the city in April 1945. The fountain is quite pretty as well. It's worth a quick look and walk around.
