The Haydnhaus is in a small, calm street. A nice garden if you want to just sit there a while, apparently Haydn loved his garden. I must say that this "Museum" is not meant for People who expect to see lots of beautiful old furniture,...More

In this house, Haydn had spent his last 12 years of life, composing such major works as "The Creation" and "The Seasons". This house/museum has various memorabilia, including Hadyn's manuscripts, portraits, posters, correspondences, furniture, harpsichord, etc. The house has a simple but charming garden. This...More

Although not well marketed or done up, I actually enjoyed this more than Mozarthaus. Plenty of artefacts and information.

The Haydnhaus is a bit out of the way (not right in the city center) but easy to reach and well worth a visit. This is the house where Haydn spent the last 12 years of his life and composed "The Creation," among other works....More

Not busy location, yet good amount of info to keep us occupied for over an hour. Not in the 1st district and not touristy. My son and I enjoyed it. And unlike Mozarthaus, took all the photos and no one came after us. Visited the...More

When Haydn retired, he moved here to what was then a suburb. There is a museum with information in German and English. You can see where he continued to compose, slept, entertained, and later died. There is a room dedicated to Brahms as well.

We had done the Beethoven house tour and then came to this one. Wow. So much better, the audio is well worth the extra cost (it isn't much anyhow) very informative. It wasn't very busy at all when we were there, at one stage it...More

Vienna’s sixth district hosts high street shopping
heaven and pedestrian area Mariahilfer Strasse. The
weirdest local building is probably the city aquarium
Haus des Meeres, housed in one of Vienna’s six
remaining World War II defense towers, and topped with
a rooftop bar that offers stunning views over Vienna
and the centre. One of the most historic sites in the
area is the passageway of 18th century Raimundhof with

I think that if you nicely ask the guy at the desk, he might accept to push it in one of the non-public rooms behind him, they seem quite friendly. Enjoy your visit.

Is the Audio Guide available in English? My husband is blind so will need it and it must be English. Will he be allowed to touch things? It would make his day and I know be so so grateful.
