If delicate embriodery is your thing, call into here at Graben 16. The shop frontage is no more than 4m wide so it's easy to miss amongst the more dominant & large glitzy surrounding stores. Some of the offerings are reasonably priced, like a gold pendant with emroided motif for 36€.

My petit point bag -purchased from another petit point shop in Vienna was in need of some TLC. On my recent visit I took it to where I bought it, hoping for some service. They were unhelpful, although it was suggested I could try the petit point shop in Karntner Street. With some embarrassment I did visit the Kovacec's. What... More

This shop was featured on Samantha Brown's show 'Passport to Europe' back in 2005 or so. I'd made a mental note then to visit if I ever went to Vienna. It took a decade but was worth it. Lovely little shop in the pedestrian zone. Really unique items done with tiny stitches; truly a work of art. I purchased an... More

This is one of the most unique places I've visited in Vienna, the shop offers typical Viennese souvenirs- bags, purses, pictures with petit point embroidery, and they look truly magical and beautiful! In my opinion this is the best type of present you can bring home, since not only it reminds you of your trip but at the same time... More

Each time I visit Vienna, I visit this Petit Point shop. Such a high quality product in a special location, being on the Kaerntnertrasse and close to the St Stephans Dom. I am regularly buying items here as gifts. The service and staff is so perfect, professional and friendly, I always have to make a visit to this shop. Visiting... More

I'm coming to Vienna every year and absolutely love this place as well as my daughter - she is always asking to bring something for her! So now I have the whole collection of petit points :) Absolutely love them.

These embroidered portraits are wonderful and I own several. In fact, I came back to the States and wanted some more, so we spoke over the phone and they shipped a couple more portraits to me without any problems. I hope to return to buy some of the larger pieces. These are really lovely and one of a kind. Stop... More

Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the centre. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
