    Hard to find
Bit hard to find but at the end of the rope you climb over the rocks, along the river (right side). A few rocks later you arrive at the „white“marble stones. There is also an official sign that you are now at the marmorslottet. I‘m not even sure if you can go there in spring time when it has more water.
To bad you had that experience. Maybe next time go with a guide? We would love to take you....

Walked the wrong trail and almost fell because of lack of security elements
We were here in July and unfortunately walked the wrong path as it was not marked what way lead where when the trail splits. Walked the wrong way for almost an hour before we turned around. Before you get to the river, there is a really steep part without any security of any kind. Would it be worth it if we didn’t go the wrong way? Maybe. Was it beautiful? Yes

    Tourists will ruin Marmorslottet:(
Marmorslottet is beautiful! But there were new tourists showing up all the time, not taking their shoes off on the marble. Over time this will ruin the marble. People seem too busy taking their selfies there, for reading the general info sign. There should be a clear sign with «NO SHOES». For people reading this, please respect Norwegian nature when visiting.
So true. Hope to take people there several more times.

Sooo, so, so beautiful! Turquoise water against white and grey marble rock formations, and green trees on the river bank. Ticked all my boxes.

The walk there is quite nice too, although very muddy in moist weather. Some parts of the track can be slippery and are steep.

The reason for my not-perfect score is not on nature’s shoulders, it’s on humans’. There aren’t signs, and you can actually miss the real attraction. Talked to someone who did. Basically, at the first crossroads, go left. And then, when it gets steep down towards the river, there’s a well-travelled track and even a rope to help you get down. BUT THIS IS NOT WHERE THE MARMOR CASTLE IS. You need to continue straight-ish, and you’ll see all the beauty in about 2 mins after that. Tell everybody! And you’re welcome <3

Followed the directions linked to Google Maps and ended up nowhere near the attraction. Hike would have been welcomed, but not a wild goose chase!

This trail is facilitated with planks so it is both easier to hike, but it also protects the vegetation. I highly recommend you to take of your shoes at the destination to avoid contributing to erosion of marble (a quite fragile rock).

As the other reviewers already said, the river with the marble rock formations are spectacular but to walk there is not easy at the end - slippery ground and rocks, climbing is required. We are a fit couple and we got used to quite though conditions but even we had some difficulties, when going back to the parking lot I saw some people getting there with worse physical condition/much overweight/with very little children or fully packed with chips&other snacks, holding in their arms, and I wondered if they could manage to reach it to the very end...so get prepared accordingly, you would need your hands :)

Great natural marble rock formation and amazing blue river water.

A small hike to get there, but the hike kan be a little though for some. There are two paths one longer with nice stairs and shorter one with a rope to go down.

It can be a little dangerous at the formation, so not recommended for kids etc.

The roads are bumpy, and it takes 40 minutes to get there from the main road (follow the signs to Melfjordbotn, and then to Marmorslottet) but the walk is pleasant and the fast-moving river pretty spectacular! The walk is no more than 2 km along a well-prepared and well-signed path. Important to have good shoes, though, as parts can be muddy and slippery. There is a staircase at the end and then some clambering over rocks before you arrive at the river. A six year-old could do this as long as you are prepared for some mud and can keep them on a tight leash by the river.

Not easy to find as there's no signpost at the parking area. Impossible to access with wheelchair or pushchair, last 100 metres dangerous for smaller children. Still well worth the hike (1.5 or 2 km); spectacular mountain river with ice-blue water and beautifully shaped marble rocks.
