We had heard and read some great reviews about this place, so we were excited to visit. We enjoyed it, but found it to be average. It's informative, and the exhibits definitely are educational. The museum is relatively small, and we were able to fully...More

We were told to go here by the hotel staff, it's pretty poor when it comes to animal welfare. There are 4 seals in a tank, they seem not to have a lot of stimulation as they are swimming in circles, showing signs of stress...More

Most of the reviews here are pretty accurate. It is a rather small place but architecturally distinct. There is a entrance fee and you get to see all sort of sea animals including the stars of the place - sea lions. Especially popular is the...More

Polaris is a pleasantly old-fashioned aquarium which really cares about its seals. They are the main attraction (2 harbour seals and 2 bearded seals) and you can watch the twice-daily feeding sessions which are very enjoyable. You can also walk along a tunnel where you...More

It is very small place to visit. You probably spend no more than 2 hours to see all the stuff there. Feeding sea lion is a everyday open show in a certain time which is the most interesting thing to see.

Guide was very informative in explaining about the northern lights phenomenon. They show the effect of human actions on polar bear extinction and ice melting which makes you how we are not serious about our Earth and other living creatures.

A fantastic building - worth a trip just to take it in - however the actual exhibits were quite average and we completed the whole museum in around 45 minutes including two short film shows [which were good].

My impressions of Polaria: Staff -welcoming & knowledgeable. Was surprised when biologist came to us and asked if we have any questions... This rarely happens in Norway, so I was pleasantly surprised! 😊 Seals- adorable! Enclosure- a bit small, but there are only 4 seals,...More

One of those places to pass the time if the weather stops you from doing what you are in Tromso for. If you are here with young kids then they will love most likely.

The aquarium is quite small not too much to see,, but the seals show was nice. There was a video played in the showroom about Svalbard which was amazing. If you have time during your visit to Tromsø then visit Polaria,, but if you are...More
