Wonderful outdoors area around Oslo, good for skiing, hiking, biking, whatever. Great accessibility with public transport, lots of cozy cabins serving lunch and coffee. There are plenty of classic trails where you can take public transport to one side and hike/ski to another access point. Or bring your bike and roll down to the city center after crossing Nordmarka. No... More

Nordmarka (Northern forest) is probably one of my favourite spots in Norway. I often go hiking here in the summer and skiing in the winter. It offers a wide variety of paths, routes and adventures. And it's SO easy to access! Yesterday's route was from Frognerseteren - Nordmarka kapellet - Ullevålseter - Sognsvann, with the start and finish being close... More

It is a good place for cross-country skiing, sledge and walk during winter, just a magnificent and huge forest. It is a great way to have fun or relax.

So many stunning views. You can always find a suitable track - from 1-2 hours walk until several days. Easy to access with public transport. Absolutely favourite recreation ground!

Skiing in the winter, fishing walking and nature hunting in the summer. A great way to get away from the city and relax.

Nordmarka is huge. And beautiful. And it can be used to absolutely everything. Things to do: Summer: Fish, swim, sleep under the stars, go camping, make a bond fire (NB! not always), hike for hours, go mountain biking. Fall: find mushrooms Winter: ski, sleep over at cabins (NB! you need to join Den Norske Turistforeningen for this), make bondfires and... More

It's a huge and excellent forest area where you can go skiing in the winter, walking, bicycling and hiking in the summer. You are at the gate of this great and wonderful forest after just 20 minutes with the metro from the city centre. It's just excellent, I love it.

Oslo is one of the largest cities in the world geographically. Most of it is Nordmarka which has beautiful scenieries, a uge network of walking ang skiing paths. You will find many small huts where you can enjoy your sandwich (niste) or buy a bun and coffee.
