What a place, outside in

We spent all evenings in the roof enjoying sunset. Such a functional building and pretty inside too. We did not attent to any plays running.

We had heard that Oslo's Opera House was a thing of beauty so we decided to take the short walk from the station to visit it. And what a beauty she is. Unfortunately we were not able to get tickets to see that evening's performance of La Boheme but just visiting and walking around it's exterior, over the 'roof' and admiring... More

Located right next to the central station makes this a good place to start your Oslo sightseeing walk. You can walk on the roof and get some nice views of the city and plan the next sight on your route. It`s also a nice place to sit and watch people and the sea when the weather is good. Also have... Visiting the Opera house is a new and different way of exploring Oslo´s seaside. Beautiful at sunset - or daylight or sunrise - gives you a different view of crowded part of down town Oslo. Good restaurant- but pricy. Grab a sandwich and enjoy a budget lunch on the rooftop.

It is one of the nice things you can do in Oslo or free. Climb the roof of the Opera house and enjoy a different perspective of the city. There's some construction being done at the moment around it, but you can definitely climb it. The view of the Oslo fjord is amazing.

It was a beautiful day when we had a chance to meet a gentleman, previous member of opera choir who showed us around in this very special building. And in the evening we enjoyed "La Bohem" with wonderful voices, We visited Oslo this time just because of Norwegian Opera and we were very happy and satisfied with this trip.

We have been several times to the new Opera in Oslo, and yesterday we went to see Don Quixote choreography by Rudolf Nurejev. The performance has been one of the trademarks of Norwegian National Ballet since the 1980s and is a stunning piece. The Opera house itself has great architecture and is an experience in itself. As much inside as... More

The Opera house is short walk from the main train station, visited in late afternoon on sunny day. Pretty cool to walk on the building with nice views of the skyline from the top.

We did this right before we left Oslo! It was fun to walk on the roof and see the view of the city! Make sure to spend 30 mins checking this out!

I had the pleasure to enjoy a magnificent opera performance here as well as a guided show of the house of "back stage". The only draw back was the dysfunctional air condition and the draft and cold: all of us in the front row needed to have our coats on throughout the evening performance, I was told it cannot be...
