If you are into international brands then this place will be exciting to you. We enjoyed the street view and the beautiful buildings. Otherwise, you will probably not spend too much time around here. We like to sit in the cafe in the street.

This is a great street to walk! many choices if you feel shopaholic or looking for something to eat, do not expect local food since this is for tourists mainly!

Wide pedestrian street full of souvenir shops & stores...great for people watching & getting from the train station to the Royal Palace at the upper end. Must visit while in Oslo.

Karl Johans gate is located in the middle of Oslo. The shopping street starts with Oslo central station and all the way up to the Royal castle. On both sides of the streets, you`ll find shops for everyone. You will also find good restaurants and cafés

It is more crowded than Oslo's other streets, but it is also the city's main street, and is very close to most of the sights in Oslo (e.g. the Opera house, the Royal Palace, Aker Brygge). There are good opportunities for shopping, but less so for food. However, there are tons of other restaurants nearby.

This area was close to our hotel and is a wonderful boulevard to walk along. There is a green space and band shell nestled between the shops. This was one of our daily walks.

We had just flown from the U.S. and were pretty tired. It was only a 10-hour flight, but we both had journeys to get to LAX - and LAX is an adventure itself. We'd heard that the best way to get on the local schedule of wherever you go is to eat according to your destination's schedule - so that's... More

Main street of Oslo filled with great stores, which many of them you only find in Oslo. Easy to get to the street, and goes all the way from Oslo S to the castle.

Just come and see by yourself - nice stree full of everything: shops, gypsies, street artist, sculpting something from a snow (?), Christmas market - you will find something for you, it is a really pulsating street in Oslo.
