Small but cosy

It's always a venue for local and popular bands in the summertime. Always packed. But always a good laugh. Difficult to get to the bar which is a shame when you're thirsty.

Overall: 4 Comments: musicians wanting to play can do so, with the house bands or parts of it. At times this is really groove, and the general level is good. Listening to this, and enjoying a beer, great. Reservation: - Location: 4 Menu: 4 (beers) Knowledge: 4 Originality: 4 Atmosphere: 3-5 Service: 3-4 Timing: 4 Cleanliness: 3-4 WiFi: - Price:... More

We went on an jazz jam night and the quality of the jazz was great, it was free to get in and is very friendly. We sat with the musicians who said that is where Diana Krall started off gigging as she used to live in Oslo. We also saw a great trumpet player whom they said was very famous... More

One of the greater bars with live music in Oslo. If you enjoy a casual atmosphere and quality live music, then this is one of the places you should check out.

Magnus Berg was playing - fantastic. The guy's a genius. And it seems they have libve music every night - so hey, what are you waiting for? The beers were good - including an excellent local IPA - and there's a nice range of Bourbons. So what are you waiting for?

Always feel comfortable at Herr Nilsen, both for a beer early afternoon and at a consert in the evening. A lot of good live music.

Stumbled across this place as we heard the music, we weren't disappointed when we went in, whilst it was packed it was bearable and the music was very very good. Service at the bar could have been better, but we heard a great Jazz band so that didn't matter too much. worth calling in to listen to great music

Unique, surprising and jammy. Its really worth listening to Totto and his houseband themself. Add random jammers that shows up and plays their instruments that they love, you have a unique evening of laid back rock, pop, blues, jazz - you never know what you gonna get. Except quality.

attended a Frank Sinatra Christmas songbook event -- sounds cheesey but was brilliant. Go early for a seat. Pub is small and popular. £7 for a pint of murphy's so slightly dearer than other Oslo pubs

We saw the Christiania 12, a New Orleans style 12 piece jazz band, who were absolutely superb. It was 150 krone each entrance, and of course, the drinks weren't cheap (where are they cheap in Oslo?) but it was well worth it. We seemed to be the only non-Norwegians in the crowd but we were welcomed in and offered a... More
