The views of the town from up here are great. I went during the early evening, just as the sun was sinking and the reflection of the light from the river and sea was beautiful. Well worth it.

Make sure you walk up to see the Fortress, it has great panoramic views over Trondheim. There is a cafe/restaurant in centre of site, but was not open until 4pm on the day I visited, shame it would have been a nice spot.

The fortress is free of charge but due to QR-Codes installed, you can still learn a lot about the history of this place. Furthermore, you have a great view over Trondheim, so going there at nighttime will give you the perfect spot for taking pictures. There is also a free toilet.

The hike to the top is a little stressful, but take breaks and walk it up.. It is well worth the hike. The Fortress holds such history and is very authentic.. The 350 view of the city is beautiful. I was able to sit on top, eat my snack and watch a city fair down below.. It was very nice

Easily reachable by bus or a hike uphill. Apparently not really a lot to see except the old fortifications, but the view over the town & fjord is just stunning))

North of the town from the centre into the old part and a steep walk up to it through quaint streets and passing lovely cafes, shops & restaurants. The view across Trondheim and the River is wonderful and worth the effort - and it is free - unusual in Norway

My friend and I made the long arduous trek up the steep street to get to this fort. We were so glad we did. Some may say there's not much to do, but we had a great time playing on the canons and running around the grass area. There is a fantastic view and an incredible amount of history in... More
