To go over Vidden (plateau) in Bergen, is a must for everybody who consider themselves as a hiker or naturelover. You can take it from both sides (Start Ulriken or Fløyen). I would suggest to take it from Ulriken. Dont use the cablecar, use your...More

If you are lucky enough to have a sunny day in Bergen, you absolutely must do this trail. We dedicated an entire day to climb to Mt Floyen (easy climb, no need for the cable car), enjoy the view, walk to Ulriken and go back...More

Good excursion, catch bus right in the downtown square, Leave time for hiking while on the mountain. Rain wear helps, you never know if weather will change.

Try to find a dry spell to do this hike. We tried it in July but the weather was showery and this restricted the views at times. Also, the bogs and streams were more of a challenge than on a dry day. However, you have...More

The Floibanen furnicular leaves from just behind Bryggen area (near McDonald's and Starbucks) for 45kr one-way. Once at the top of Floyen, you can choose your walk from there, no need to register. Most walks are well signed... More

You can go any time of year, but in the winter the sunlight lasts shorter, and IT can be mighty cold. Wear wind jackets and really warm clothes, gloves and wool mittens. Be prepared! But winter can be even nicer than summer... More
